Join us for an exciting 1½ days at the impressive SuperC building in the historic university city of Aachen, Germany. Help us repeat the high quality from the previous three symposia’s by contributing with interesting presentations and productive discussions on the latest findings from recent studies with the suPAR biomarker.
Focusing on medical patients, a very heterogeneous population present at the Emergency Department (ED), representing a wide range of patients either with a defined acute illness or with decompensating of multiple chronic disorders. Various laboratory biomarkers are routinely used in medical patients in the ED. However, many of these tools require a specific diagnosis, which may not be immediately obtainable, or have limitations in predicting the expected course of disease including the case fatality rate.
Inflammation - Diagnosis, Disease Progression and Prognosis – suPAR is a strong prognostic biomarker in patients with multiple medical diseases, for early identification of potentially critical cases – Triaging. Although the pathogenic background is not sufficiently well understood at present, suPAR, by mirroring multiple prognosis-related conditions, appears to be a promising biomarker for risk stratification. suPAR seems not only to be related to inflammatory processes, but also to reflect co-morbidities and organ dysfunction, which are important risk factors for case fatality in medical patients.
As the proud sponsor of the 4’th International suPAR Symposium ViroGates wish to secure a highly successful meeting and will be pleased to receive input and information to make the next coming meeting even more relevant and worthwhile to participate in.
